The Silver Safety Council was formed for the purpose of providing reliable information to the public, industry, and scientific community on the safe and responsible use of silver supplements.

We believe the responsible use of silver in health offers a great deal of benefits to mankind, and that the responsible dissemination of information on safety and use is essential.

Council Members

Donald Baird, PhD

• Former professor, Department of Chemistry, Nova Southeastern University (www.nova.edu)

Dr Baird was Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Nova Southeastern University. He also served as Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at Florida Atlantic University, where he was responsible for the development and initiation of the chemistry PhD program. He has taught college chemistry for about 25 years. Dr Baird received his PhD in chemistry from the State University of New York-Buffalo in 1981. He has taught undergraduate courses in chemistry at Western Illinois University and Florida Atlantic University. Dr Baird has published a number of research papers in chemical education journals as well as a chemistry study guide to accompany a popular textbook. Dr Baird is participating on the Silver Safety Council as an individual, and not as a representative of any university or other entity.

Scott C Tips, Esq

Scott Tips, Esq, is President of the National Health Federation ("NHF"), the World's oldest health-freedom organization for consumers and the only one accredited by Codex to attend and speak out at meetings of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the highest international body on food standards. Mr Tips received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1974, studied at the Sorbonne (Paris I) from 1976-1977, and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1980. A California-licensed attorney, he has specialized since 1983 in food-and-drug law and trademark law, but also engages in business litigation, general business law, and nonprofit organizations, with an international clientele. Since 1989, he has been the General Counsel to the NHF. He is also the Editor of the Health Freedom News, a publication of NHF, in addition to serving on the Board of Governors of NHF. A legal columnist, he also writes a monthly column for Whole Foods Magazine called Legal Tips, a column he started in 1984. Currently, Mr Tips is occupying much of his time with health-freedom issues such as Codex Alimentarius and other attempts to limit individual freedom of choice in health matters. Mr Tips is participating on the Silver Safety Council as an individual, and not as a representative of any client, company, organization or other entity.

Frank Sabatino, DC, PhD

Dr Sabatino is the Health Director of Balance for LIfe in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where people come from all over the world to benefit from water fasting under his supervision. He was formerly the president of the International Association of Hygienic Physicians, the professional practitioners of "natural hygiene". Dr Sabatino received his PhD in neuroendochroinology from Emory University School of Medicine. He has done extensive research in cell biology, nutrition and aging. He was formerly the President of the International Association of Hygienic Physicians. Dr Sabatino is participating on the Silver Safety Council as an individual, and not as a representative of any institution or other entity.

Jay Newman

Mr Newman is President, CEO and founder of Invision International Health Solutions, which manufactures and markets Silver 100™ Ionic Silver Complex, an advanced ionic silver product sold as a dietary supplement. He is also founder and Executive Director of Champions for Humanity, a nonprofit that charitably distributes ionic silver in third-world countries. He is the founder and Chairman of the Silver Safety Council,and creator of the Silver Safety Calculation. Mr Newman is regarded as a leading expert in the field of using silver for human use with respect to scientific, safety and regulatory issues, and has been interviewed as an industry expert on Good Morning America, NBC TV News, Mining Industry Review, and dozens of radio shows. He has more than 30 years of experience in the natural health and has focused his career solely on the silver ion field for more than 15 years. Mr Newman is a member of the Board of Advisors of the National Health Federation, the World's oldest health-freedom organization for consumers and the only one accredited by Codex to attend and speak out on behalf of the consumer at meetings of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, the highly influential international body on food standards and supplements. Mr Newman is participating on the Silver Safety Council as an individual, and not as a representative of any company or other entity.
